Description of Amatib 80%:
Water soluble powder. Semisynthetic antibiotic from the group of penicillins, broad-spectrum.
Oral powder. White to pale yellow powder. Appearance of the product after dilution: Colourless to pale yellowish solution.
Ingredients:
1 g contains Amoxicillin trihydrate 800 mg (corresponds to 697 mg of amoxicillin).

Special precautions for use in animals:
Official, national and regional antimicrobial policies should be taken into account when the product is used.
Use of the product should be based on susceptibility testing of the bacteria isolated from the animal. If this is not possible, therapy should be based on local (regional, farm level) epidemiological information about susceptibility of the target bacteria;
Use of the product deviating from the instructions given in the SPC may increase the prevalence of bacteria resistant to the amoxicillin and may decrease the effectiveness of the treatment.
Special precautions to be taken by the person administering the veterinary medicinal product to animals:
Use during pregnancy, lactation or lay:
The safety of the veterinary medicinal product has not been established during pregnancy and lactation. Laboratory studies in rats and rabbits have not produced any evidence of teratogenic, foetotoxic or maternotoxic effects.
Use only according to the benefit/risk assessment by the responsible veterinarian.
Adverse reactions (frequency and seriousness):
Penicillins and cephalosporins may cause hypersensitivity following administration. Allergic reactions to these substances may occasionally be serious.
Interactions of Amatib 80%:
Amoxicillin exerts its bactericidal action by inhibition of bacterial cell wall synthesis during multiplication. It is therefore in principle not compatible with bacteriostatic antibiotics (e.g. tetracyclines) which inhibit multiplication. Synergism occurs with ß-lactam antibiotics and aminoglycosides.

Not authorised for use in laying birds producing eggs for human consumption. Do not use within 3 weeks of onset of lay.

Any unused veterinary medicinal product or waste materials derived from such veterinary medicinal products should be disposed of in accordance with local requirements.
Storage:
The unopened medicinal product does not require any special temperature storage conditions. Once opened, the medicinal product should be stored at temperatures below 25°C. In order to protect from moisture, store the product in the original packaging. Once opened, keep the bags tightly closed by folding the cut edge of the bag over and securing with a clip.
Shelf life:
Of the veterinary medicinal product as packaged for sale: 2 years.
Shelf life after first opening the immediate packaging: 500 g packs: 2 months.
Shelf life after dilution according to directions: 12 hours.
Shelf life after incorporation into meal: use immediately.
