Benzalkonium chloride is a quaternary ammonium that has spermicidal and antiseptic properties. Its contraceptive effect is associated with the ability to destroy sperm membranes. When the active substance Pharmatex comes into contact with sperm, their immediate immobilization occurs due to a significant disruption of the surface tension of the sperm membrane, loss of the flagellum, lysis of the membrane of the sperm head with its destruction and subsequent separation of the head. The contraceptive effect is enhanced by coagulation and thickening of cervical mucus by Farmatex, thus creating an additional barrier for ejaculate to enter the uterine cavity. The drug also has an antiseptic and antimicrobial effect, reduces the risk of contracting sexually transmitted infections, but does not completely eliminate it. Does not affect libido or fertility. Contraceptive effectiveness is measured by the Pearl Index and has been clinically proven to be <1 for Pharmatex. That is, if used correctly and all requirements are met, the incidence of unwanted pregnancy is about 1% per year. After stopping the use of the drug, the possibility of conception is restored. This method of contraception is intended for all women of reproductive age. It is especially advisable to use Pharmatex:

Contraindications of Pharmatex Vaginal Suppositories 18.9 mg:

Increased sensitivity (allergic reactions or irritant effect) to the components of the drug, vaginitis, ulcers and irritation of the mucous membrane of the vagina and cervix. Interaction with other medicinal products:

Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding:
