Dosage

For the treatment of trichomoniasis in cows and sires, the drug is administered orally for 3-4 days in a row, twice a day at a dose of 10 mg per 1 kg of animal weight according to the active substance. For local treatment, a 1% suspension of metronidazole (according to DV) in saline is used. The drug is poorly soluble in water, therefore, immediately before use, the resulting suspension of metronidazole is thoroughly shaken and the vagina or prepuce of sick animals is washed 2-4 times with an interval of 24 hours, spending 25-50 ml of the suspension. For the treatment of balantidiasis in pigs, metronidazole is administered orally at a dose of 10 mg per 1 kg of animal weight (according to the active substance) 2 times a day (morning and evening) for three consecutive days. If necessary, the course of treatment is repeated after 7-10 days.

For the treatment of histomonosis of turkeys and geese, the drug is given at the rate of 10 mg (active ingredient) per 1 kg of bird weight 3 times a day for 10 consecutive days or once a day at a dose of 1.5 g (active ingredient) per 1 kg of feed for 10 days.
