Pharmacological Properties of Metronidazole 25% Powder:

Synthetic antimicrobial and antiprotozoal drug, a derivative of 5-nitroimidazole. The drug has a bactericidal effect on microorganisms, the enzyme systems of which can restore nitro groups. Metronidazole disrupts DNA replication and protein synthesis in a microbial cell, inhibiting tissue respiration; easily penetrates into the cells of sensitive microorganisms, binding to DNA and disrupting the replication process.
The drug is active against Trichomonas spp., Gardnerella spp., Giardia spp., Entamoeba histolytica, Balantidium coli, Lamblia spp. , as well as obligate anaerobes B acteroides spp., Helicobacter pylori, Fusobacterium spp., Veillonela spp., Eubacterium spp., Clostridium spp., Prevotella spp., Peptococcus spp., Peptostreptococcus spp.

Contraindications of Metronidazole 25% Powder:

• Hypersensitivity to the drug, pregnancy (first trimester), lactation;
